The Truck:
1987 Chevrolet S-10, Long Bed, 2.8 V-6, 5 Speed, Power Steering, Power Brakes, 190,000 miles, purchased bone stock in June 2000 for $300.00. The truck is now powered by a 350 V-8 and TH 350 Automatic.
Audio:
Clarion DRB-5475 AM/FM CD Player, AudioControl EQL, Two Xtant amps, 202m for Image Dynamics CD-1E V.2 Mini Horns and Image Dynamics Mid Bass, Xtant 121m for a Planet Audio P-1060-4 10" subwoofer. Sub is behind the seats in a 1.5 cu ft sealed enclosure. Street Wires and Phoenix Gold wiring and RCA's.
Suspension:
Bell Tech dropped spindles, Stock front springs with one wrap cut, removed front bump stops. The rear is lowered via a custom built suspension. The leaf springs were ditched in favor of tube control arms and coil over shocks. A “C” section was cut just above the axle for additional clearance. The top of the axle now rides just below the lower frame rail.
Interior:
The seats are from a 90's Honda Prelude. The seats will be recovered at some point in tweed and vinyl. Custom made center console, reworked dash so the head unit would fit flush, custom made door panels for a "No Handles or Switches" look. All plastic trim items were removed, cleaned and repainted with semi-flat black paint. Auxiliary fuse panel built into the left dash speaker area, relays for audio and alarm applications are built into the right dash speaker location. Alarm brain is mounted (somewhere!). Dash was completely removed to clean up the factory and other wiring added over the years. Everything is covered with black and purple tweed. The Xtants are mounted to the rear cab wall. Power windows added using GM parts. Power door locks using after market parts. Custom built door solenoids using Chevy starter parts.
Exterior:
The body was in excellent shape with a few minor dents along the top of the bed rail. A 3" rust hole in the floor near the go pedal was welded shut. I squirted the truck with PPG black epoxy primer, I couldn't stand the factory blue any longer. Headlight trim is blacked out, satin finish billet grill, 10" by 3/8" led 3rd brake light centered just below the rear window. Front wheels are 14X6, Rear wheels are 15X7, both are Corvette Rally Wheels.
Future Plans:
Molded black carpet for the cab. Steel roll pan. Steel tailgate cover (flat). 1959 Cadillac tail lights in the factory tail light area, 3 on each side, frenched. Louvered hood. Shaved door handles.Soft bed cover. Dark purple paint. A second battery for the audio.
